A new poll places Bandung mayor Ridwan Kamil as Jakarta's most likeable figure, beating Jakarta governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.

Cyrus Network Research and Consulting conducted a survey with 1,000 respondents between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1 across the capital's five municipalities.

According to the poll, Ridwan ranked first with a likeability score of 72.4 percent. Former Surabaya mayor Tri Rismaharini followed in second place with 71.9 percent, while Ahok came in third with 67.2 percent.

Cyrus Network managing director Eko Dafid Afianto said despite placing third in the likability list, Ahok had topped the popularity and electability categories, followed by Ridwan and Risma.

'€œIn terms of popularity, Ahok is still number one with 96.8 percent, followed by Risma and Ridwan. Electability-wise, Ahok is also in first place with 40.3 percent, followed by Ridwan Kamil with 8.6 percent,'€ Eko said as quoted by newsportal tribbunews.com on Wednesday.

Ahok'€™s electability rate, Eko added, had risen from 26.7 percent in a poll conducted in April. Ridwan and Risma also saw rises in there electability, albeit still below Ahok.

Ahok welcomed the survey and prepared himself to not be re-elected as Jakarta governor in the 2017 elections.

"What can I do? I probably won'€™t be re-elected in 2017,'€ he told journalists.

Ahok declared that he would run for governor as an independent after stepping down from the Gerindra Party last year. (liz/arn)
