ost Jakarta showcased its domination of the National Hockey Championships on Sunday as its men's squad beat West Papua 2-0, while the women's team tied defending champion East Kalimantan 1-1 in the Senayan ABC Field, Jakarta.
Facing the defending champ in the women's division, the host team played aggressively to crack its opponent's defense to gain its first and only goal through Galuh Agustia in the 19th minute.
In response, the East Kalimantan team, which is powered by siblings Nurasiah and Nur Anisah, fought back. The defending champ dealt with a tough host as it repeatedly failed to score.
After the match was postponed for one hour because of a downpour, East Kalimantan managed to make an equalizer through Nurasiah in the 67th.
In the men's division, Jakarta offered dynamic playing against West Papua. In the 26th, Dadan earned a penalty shot, which gave his team a 1-0 lead. Budi Rahamansyah added another goal in the 67th and the host sealed the game.
In another match, East Java finished 0-0 against Banten in the women's division.
