hile most religious-themed films in Indonesia are drama-heavy, model and actress Dinda Kanyadewi took on the challenge of getting involved in Ifa Ifansyah's new film, Pesantren Impian (Dream Islamic Boarding School).
To be released in March next year, the thriller is an adaption of a novel of the same name authored by Asma Nadia.
In the film, Dinda assumed the role of a celebrity's personal assistant named Inong.
'There is a scene where I have to read the Koran. It's the most difficult scene because I'm not that good. But in the story the character just started learning to read the Koran, so I didn't have to worry about making mistakes,' she was quoted by kapanlagi.com on Thursday.
Another memorable moment for Dinda while shooting on location in Yogyakarta was when she had to film a fight scene on board a moving bus. 'On both sides of the road were ravines,' she said.
Dinda, 28, who is also a film director, said she enjoyed working with award-winner Ifa. 'He rarely gets upset on set,' she said.
