Honestly, I have to give a round of applause to the media for very beautifully portraying Setya Novanto as a scapegoat! Bravo! Yes, it is very clear for everyone ' you don't have to be a rocket scientist ' to notice that he's the culprit. We all know his track record; the many times the ICW has reported who he is. He is allegedly involved in six untouchable corruption cases. He's the 'Indonesian Santa Claus', Nazaruddin said. No one is able to put him in custody. We will see now buddy!
If the police/lawmakers seriously want to annihilate the mafia, big names in national energy industry should be seriously interrogated in order to heal the mess in the governance of the Indonesian oil and gas sector at the downstream level (Erwin, kompas.com).
On the other hand, this Sudirman-Mata Najwa collaboration was very tricky though! Sudirman looked like naive weak nerd and Mata Najwa just does her job as if in a great set play!
For me, the theory that most makes sense is that Sudirman is Mata Najwa's main source for accepting the letter. How could this sharp woman get the letter? Of course, from the minister himself! This Sudirman is very smart! He knew he had to get some back up! And because he doesn't have big party behind him, no KMP support him, neither do KIH, no Berkeley no Rothschild (or do they?) Then, he opens the fact to the public in order to get public support! Genius!
Ahok does it against the Jakarta DPRD, and so far so good. I believe lots of people will back up Sudirman 'Smart' Said and Mata Najwa. Thanks for your bravery!
However, blaming Setya Novanto alone will not solve the problem! We all know that Indonesia's oil and gas mafia has been in existence since the New Order period. There have been allegations that the group, which is popularly called the 'mafia migas', operates to enrich the individuals involved. I believe, Setya is just pawn compared with the 'godfather' himself.
According to economist Emil Salim, so far the source of problems in the mining sector is state income that lacks transparency.
Precisely, the case of 'The government is said to be not transparent' related to PT Freeport Indonesia contract swiftly triggers the birth of mining mafias. It is time for the government to be firm in eradicating the mafia, to accelerate the contribution of mining toward Indonesia's economy.
'The darkest of the reports are mostly from the extractive industries, as there is no transparency. Therefore this and that mafia emerge, as recently the House's (DPR) has intervened in the extension of Freeport contract,' affirmed Emil in a discussion at Aryaduta Hotel, Jalan Prapatan, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/17/2015, Metrotvnews).
