Aghni Nur Fitri of Tasikmalaya won the under-15 girls'€™ singles and doubles titles at the 2015 MILO School Competition badminton championships in Jakarta on Saturday.

Aghni outclassed Jessica Maya of Semarang 21-15, 21-13 in the singles event and, alongside Kanaya Anisya Putri of Cimahi, beat Priskila Venus and Rabelvrili Cantika of Balikpapan 21-10, 19-21, 21-13.

'€œWhen I took the qualifying round in this competition back in Tasikmalaya, I never thought that I would reach the final, let alone become the winner,'€ said Aghni in a release. '€œMy hard work has paid off, plus the benefit of learning directly from legendary Indonesian shuttlers.'€

Prior to the grand finale, the 36 young shuttlers who made it through the qualifying rounds earned a valuable physical training session with Olympian and 1995 world champion Rexy Mainaky.

The competition applies national ranking points that help the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) scout out young talent for its national camp selection.

The MILO School Competition is the only under-15 badminton competition that is listed in the PBSI calendar.
