AKARTA: Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said has said he is ready to repeat his report of an ethical breach on the part of House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto before the House's ethics council.
'We want to support the council in its duties and will provide anything it takes. I am willing to attend to give additional information if necessary,' Sudirman said during a visit to a geothermal project in Padang Aro, West Sumatra, as quoted by Antara on Saturday.
Sudirman recently submitted a report to the ethics council accusing Setya of trying to broker a deal with an executive of PT Freeport Indonesia, a unit of US mining giant Freeport-McMoRan.
The report accused Setya, a member of the Golkar Party, of claiming to have gained the approval of President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla to secure shares and projects from Freeport in exchange for helping the firm extend its contract and continue operating its gold mine, one of the world's largest, in Papua.
