he Intercultural Sports Club of Indonesia is set to stage the 2016 Festival of Hockey, at the Senayan Field Hockey Stadium this weekend.

Nine international touring teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand and teams from Kutai Kartanegara, Jakarta, West Papua and Surabaya have also confirmed their presence.

“The event is tailored so people have fun and also encourages people to come and play,” the organizer said Wednesday in a statement.

Each team will be playing in a fun game format of eight players per side for 15 minutes per game. The main event will be held from Saturday until Sunday.

As a curtain raiser, a short competition for teenagers has already been set. The event, called the Youth Hockey Challenge, will feature 12 all boy and five all girl teams from high schools and colleges in cities such as Jakarta, Serang, Bandung, Kendal, Tangerang, Sidoarjo and Surabaya.

The teams will compete from Thursday to Friday.
