alaysian investor YBK Usahasama Sdn Bhd Selangor is planning to build a resort and dairy farm in Kepahiang regency, Bengkulu province.
As part of assessing the investment feasibility, the Malaysian investor has made a site visit and conducted a field survey at the Kepahiang tea farm, which will be the location of the new projects.
“The views are great and suit a resort or a hotel. If the project is realized, it will open up more jobs to surrounding residents,” YBK Usahasama spokesperson Che Ayzayem Bin Che Amdan said in Bengkulu on Saturday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Kepahiang Regent Hidayatullah Sjahid lauded the interest, saying it was in line with the local administration’s plans. The administration plans to clear five hectares of tea fields for foreign investment.
"We welcome all investors who want to invest their money, especially in livestock and agriculture,” he said.
The Kepahiang tea farm, build in 1920 during the Dutch colonial era, is the one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. (ags)
