AKARTA: Actress Zaskia Adya Mecca, the wife of film director Hanung Bramantyo, plans to continue to breastfeed her third baby, three-month old Bhai Kaba Bramantyo, while fasting during the Ramadhan holy month.

“I’ve never tried fasting while breastfeeding. Back then, my [first and second] children were [Old enough] complementary feeding [during Ramadhan],” she said recently as quoted by kompas.com.

Zaskia said she had received information on breastfeeding while fasting from fellow actress Shireen Sungkar, who breastfed her baby son, Teuku Adam Al Fatih in Ramadhan last year.

“I chatted with Shereen. She said she had a chance to fast for 10 days while she breastfed Adam. So, okay, if she can, I can,” said Zaskia. — JP
