ambi Police have arrested six people, allegedly members of an international drug syndicate, and confiscated six packages of crystal methamphetamine, known as shabu-shabu, weighing 1.4 kilograms.
Police detectives also seized an FN pistol, 42 bullets, Rp 33 million (US$2,475) in cash and 68.97 grams of gold.
The alleged drug traffickers and the evidence were seized on Kayu Aro Island, in the regency of Muaro Jambi, on Thursday.
“They attacked the police officers,” Jambi Police chief Brig. Gen. Yazid Fanani said on Friday, adding that one police car was damaged.
Yazid said the crystal methamphetamine came from China, smuggled to Aceh through Malaysia, before finally being transported to Jambi.
