he Indonesian Ombudsman has stepped in to look for any indication of negligence after an elevator fell several floors down its shaft at Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta, injuring 12 people inside.
“We are gathering information from the hospital management and asking for documents related to the worthiness of the elevator,” the ombudsman’s public report assistant, Saputra Malik, said at the hospital on Monday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Saputra said the investigation results would be sent to the police to help them in their investigation.
“We will check all relevant administration, such as the electricity management in the building and the elevator’s installation and maintenance,” Saputra said.
