he Investment Coordinating Board’s (BKPM) fast-track green line import program has reduced the import clearance time by 94 percent, from 42 days to only two days, the BKPM head has said.
BKPM chief Franky Sibarani said that 66 companies had utilized the facility since it was launched on January 18. They had imported machinery and other capital goods with a total value of US$ 1.21 billion, he added.
“Two of them are using the facility to invest in remote areas in Maluku and North Maluku provinces,” Franky Sibarani said at the BKPM office on Tuesday.
PT Batu Tua Tembaga Raya, a producer of copper cathodes in Wetan Island, Maluku Province, said the clearance time was reduced from 6.7 days to less than a day on average with the green line facility, Franky said.
PT Megah Surya Pertiwi, a nickel smelter in Obi Island North Maluku province, had reduced its clearance time from five days to less than eight hours, he added. (dan)
