MY GADGET; Sunny Gho: Gadgets for Comics

Sunny Gho is not just another comic enthusiast.

As someone with a passion for the art of comics and particularly in coloring, Sunny is the CEO of Kosmik Magazine — a monthly comic publication featuring eight stories by Indonesian comic artists.

He is also the co-founder of Popcon Asia, the annual highly awaited International Pop Culture Convention. Popcon Asia is back this year, scheduled to entertain Indonesian pop culture enthusiasts from Aug. 12 to 14 in Jakarta.

Sunny is also a coloring artist for Stellar Labs, a Jakarta-based comic book studio where artists contribute in creating renowned US comics such as Star Trek, Spider-Man and The Avengers.

Due to his profession that depends a lot on computers and coloring/editing software, Sunny deems himself 99 percent reliant on technology.

“I really can’t do without technology, especially when it comes to my profession. I mean, even when it comes to printing and stuff, it’s all digital nowadays. So for me personally, technology is very important and I depend a lot on it,” he said.

Following are the apps and software that he uses the most:

-------------

Adobe Photoshop

I use Photoshop to color and it’s pretty much the only thing that I use when it comes to coloring the materials I’m working on. So I’m very dependent on this program.

-------------

Whatsapp Messenger

I use Whatsapp to communicate with others outside of work. It’s pretty convenient and I use it quite a lot.

-------------

Slack

Slack is an app like Whatsapp, but for within the office. So it’s to communicate exclusively with the people at my office.
