A

n Australian police officer said Patrick O’Connor, a former boyfriend of murder suspect Jessica Kumala Wongso, had requested a restraining order against Jessica because he considered her mentally unstable.

The request was made in November 2015.

John J. Torres, a police officer with the New South Wales Police, who was presented by prosecutors during a court hearing at the Central Jakarta District Court, said O’Connor told police that Jessica could endanger him on account  of her psychological condition.

According to the police officer, O’ Connor said when their relationship ended, Jessica attempted to contact him through phone calls and text messages.

O’Connor also claimed in his report that Jessica, a former resident of Australia, used to tell him that she would hurt herself, Torres testified.

Jessica is on trial for the murder of Wayan Mirna Salihin. She is alleged to have laced Mirna’s drink with cyanide at a restaurant in Central Jakarta on Jan. 6. Mirna died on her way to the hospital. (bbn)
