rosecutor Sandhy Handika confronted defendant Jessica Kumala Wongso about the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in a trial on Wednesday at the Central Jakarta District Court but Jessica denied any recognition of the footage.
When Sandhy asked Jessica whether she saw that the paper bags were moved on the table, she denied that the footage showed the bags.
"They don't seem like paper bags but I saw the movement. I don't know exactly what those things are," Jessica, who stood near the monitor to see the footage, told the judge panel.
Most of the time, Jessica also could not confirm whether the recording really showed herself as she said she could not see the CCTV clearly.
Throughout the trial, there were differences between Jessica's statements and the police’s investigation report (BAP) regarding the position of the Vietnamese coffee glass, the paper bags and her seating position.
"I was under pressure during the police interrogation. Therefore, I answered like that [in the BAP]. The truth is, I didn't really notice [the drinks and the situation] ," she said. (evi)
