Rani Hatta is more than just a fashion designer. She is a mom of one and among Instagram’s most popular hijabi fashionistas. Her minimal and effortless style has captivated the hearts of her thousands of social media followers, with many looking up to her for style inspiration.
“When I started using Instagram, there weren’t people posting outfits with hijab, and I felt like those wearing hijab didn’t have enough people to look up to. So I think when I started posting pictures of my outfits of the day on Instagram, people quickly noticed,” Rani humbly said of her meteoric rise on social media.
Not only did social media help Rani put her name on the map, Rani says that it has also tremendously helped her career as a fashion designer.
“When I started making clothes, I would upload my designs on social media and that was really the cheapest and quickest way to promote my designs during the early days,” she said.
According to Rani, fashion designers should embrace social media, as it has not only become a powerful marketing tool but also a way to get to know fellow designers.
“I always say to young and upcoming designers; take advantage of social media. It’s free and virtually anyone can access it […] Using Instagram to promote your work means you’re opening up your business to the global market,” Rani said.
Here are three gadgets that the simple and effortless chic Rani uses to organize her work and simplify her life.
-----------------
iPad Pro
I’m a fashion designer and the iPad pro is important to me because that’s where I sketch my designs now.
-----------------
iPhone 6s
Like almost everyone today, my phone is one gadget I can’t live without.
-----------------
Adobe Draw
It’s the most used app on my iPad. In the old days, you would sketch your designs in a sketchbook, but sometimes you would lose your drawings. Now, everything is so easy. You’ll never lose your designs and it’s easy to share them too.
