s many as 16 young Muslim leaders from the Philippines will be arriving in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), from Oct. 10 to 15 to learn and share experiences on family planning as part of internship activities for an autonomous Mindanao Muslim region in the Philippines in cooperation between the Indonesian and Philippine governments.
“The participants are young Muslim leaders from the Philippines who come from different backgrounds, such as from non-governmental groups, the government and communities. They will learn from Indonesia and also share experiences related to the issue of the role of Muslim leaders in family planning, reproductive health and other gender issues including early marriage, especially in Lombok, NTB,” State Secretariat Overseas Technical Cooperation (KTLN) head Rika Kiswardani said on Monday after the opening ceremony of the program at Hotel Aston Mataram.
“Lombok, known as the island of a thousand mosques, has become the location of the visit given the role of religious leaders and Islamic boarding schools, which are of great help for the success of the family health program and family planning,” said Rika.
