he Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD Jakarta) on Monday officially declared three pairs – Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama-Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni – as participants in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
KPUD Jakarta chairman Sumarno said all three of the candidate pairs' documents have fulfilled the requirements for gubernatorial candidates.
“After the candidates were officially announced as participants in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, they are bound to all regulations decided by the KPUD,” said Sumarno in Jakarta on Monday.
Ahok-Djarot were supported by Golkar Party, NasDem Party, Hanura Party and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P); Anies-Sandiaga were supported by Gerindra Party and Prosperous Justice Party (PKS); Agus-Sylviana were supported by the United Development Party (PPP), the national Awakening Party (PKB) and the National Mandate Party (PAN).
KPUD Jakarta will draw the ballot numbers of the candidates on Wednesday. (bbn)
