Jakarta deputy governor candidate Sandiaga Uno has said he is ready to use more of his own money to fund campaign activities.
“I've told my team that I will donate my personal funds to close our funding gap,” said the running mate of Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Anies Baswedan during a campaign stop in South Kedoya, West Jakarta, on Friday.
While conveying his readiness to bear his campaign costs, Sandiaga said his team would hold several fund-raising events, including gala dinners and entrepreneurship and motivational classes.

Sandiaga further said he had instructed his team to only accept donations from legal sources.
“We uphold our ‘know your contributor' principle. We don't want to accept funds from anonymous donors,” he said. He refused to elaborate on the amount of money he aimed to raise at events.
The Anies-Sandiaga campaign team said previously that as of Dec. 19, the team had raised Rp 35.6 billion, most of which reportedly came from Sandiaga's pocket. (ebf)
