he Jakarta administration hopes to increase its revenues from electronic parking meters this year by more than 100 percent to Rp 111.7 billion from last year’s Rp 52.3 billion (US$3.99 million).
Jakarta Transportation Agency head Andri Yansyah said on Thursday the city’s revenues from parking tickets had increased since his agency installed electronic parking terminal (TPE) payment cards.
“We took in Rp 39.2 billion throughout 2015 with only 111 parking meters along Jl. Sabang in Central Jakarta, Jl. Kelapa Gading in North Jakarta and Jl. Falatehan in West Jakarta,” he said at City Hall.

He added that his agency had placed an additional 41 parking meters in the first half of last year and another 161 in the second half.
Andri said he was confident that the target of Rp 111.7 billion would be reached.
Using TPEs, vehicle owners no longer use cash to pay for parking tickets but use electronic money cards issued by various banks. (dmr)
