ank Indonesia (BI) will continue to promote awareness among youngsters about the function of the central bank by building more reading corners at educational institutions, particularly universities, throughout the country.
"As of now, BI has built 652 reading corners across the country and the number is expected to reach 1,000 in the next three years," BI representative Dyah Wulandari said on Tuesday.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony for BI’s reading corner at the Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) in Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten, she said BI had built reading corners for all levels of education.

BI corners are equipped with books, television sets and computers to help young people learn more about economics and banking, especially BI’s function as the country’s economic regulator, she added.
UMN’s library coordinator Orisa Mahardhini said the library would optimize the use of the BI corner by organizing talk-shows, discussions, debates and speeches on economics and banking. (yon/bbn)
