he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and National Police inked an agreement on Wednesday at the police headquarters to strengthen their collaboration in the nation’s fight against corruption.
One of the new programs in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that is hoped to boost synergy between the institutions is the electronic notification of the commencement of an investigation (e-SPDP). Law enforcement institutions will be able to access the electronic notifications online, which is expected to improve communication by increasing the sharing of information and data on corruption cases handled by the KPK, police and AGO.
"We will have the same data and information about corruption cases across Indonesia," KPK chief Agus Rahardjo said on Wednesday. He added that e-SPDP would make information sharing and the handling of corruption cases more effective and efficient.

The e-SPDP pilot program will be introduced first at the AGO’s junior attorney for special crimes (Jampidsus), the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) and the KPK in Jakarta. After that the system will be implemented in other provinces. (hol/wit)
