ank Indonesia (BI) will provide only limited services on Wednesday, the day of voting in the second round of the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
BI Real Time Gross Settlement (BI-RTGS), the Scripless Securities Settlement System (BI-SSSS) and the National Clearance System (SKNBI) will operate as normal according to their schedules, as will cash services, a BI press statement says.
Meanwhile, the central bank will not issue a Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (JISDOR). It will use Tuesday’s rate as Wednesday’s BI currency rate reference and nix all foreign exchange (forex) monetary operation transactions on the day.
BI’s representative office in Jakarta will also cease operations, while other offices across the archipelago will remain open for business as usual.
“Bank Indonesia supports the second-round election day by giving employees at its headquarters in Jakarta a day off, adjusting working times of employees who carry out the limited monetary operations and granting dispensations for its employees in local regions to exercise their voting rights,” the statement says.
