akarta City Council plans to implement an electronic database system, starting next year, as a way to improve the process of gathering information about the aspirations and concerns of citizens during the council's recess periods.
The so-called “e-recess” system will ease the input and monitoring process, councilor Purwana Ansyori said.
“We plan to implement the electronic system next year,” Purwana said.
According to government regulations, the city council has three recess periods a year, a time when council members visit their constituencies to learn about citizens’ hopes, concerns, and opinions, in order to accommodate them in development planning.
Purwana added that the electronic database system would allow citizens to give their input on council policies and plans. They will be able to simply fill in a draft so “every idea can be accommodated.”
“Citizens will also be able to participate by looking at a list of goals collected and giving their opinion about them,” Purwana said on Wednesday as quoted by beritajakarta.com. (kuk)
