tate-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II is beefing up security at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (SHIA) in Tangerang, Banten, following a suicide bomb attack at the Kampung Melayu Transjakarta bus terminal in East Jakarta on Wednesday night.
SHIA security, rescue and firefighting senior manager Tommy Bawono said on Thursday that the airport's security personnel has cooperated with the Indonesian Military (TNI) and a joint team from Aviation Security (Avsec) and non-aviation security.
"Security, both inside and outside the airport, has been intensified," Tommy said as quoted by tempo.co.

The airport’s operator has intensified security by increasing patrol frequency, optimizing supervision through CCTV, empowering operational control aid (BKO), tightening up access control points and vehicle access to terminals and increasing the percentage of random checks and manual checks.
The twin bombings occurred only hours before the Ascension of Jesus Christ public holiday. Two suspected suicide bombers died instantly, the police said. (yon)
