tate electricity company PLN has announced plans to construct two main electricity relay stations in Jambi to help curb power shortages in the province.
The two stations will be constructed in Tebo regency and Sungai Penuh city, says Jambi Governor Zumi Zola.
“In the next three years, 115 villages that suffer frequent blackouts or don’t have any access to electricity at all, will be fully covered by PLN,” he said on Monday.

PLN’s Jambi manager, Haris Andika, said development of electricity infrastructure in 37 of the 115 villages is ongoing. Development in 41 villages will begin in 2018, and the remaining 37 in 2019.
“We hope to gain the cooperation of local residents, especially when infrastructure such as electricity poles will need to be erected on farming areas,” he added. (bbs)
