tate-owned lender Bank Mandiri has started construction on its regional headquarters in Bekasi, West Java, which is to coordinate its branches in five nearby cities, said its operations director on Monday.
The construction of the 17-story, four-basement building is expected to be finished in the end of 2018, said Mandiri operations director Ogi Prastomiyono in Bekasi on Monday.
"This regional office will manage 64 branch offices," Ogi said during the groundbreaking ceremony, adding that these branch offices were currently being handled by the Jakarta and Bandung regional offices.
He added that the establishment of the Bekasi regional office would ease the burden of the Jakarta office.
The Bekasi office will accommodate Bank Mandiri subsidiaries like Mandiri Syariah, Mandiri Tunas Finance and Axa Mandiri, Ogi said.
The bank currently has total assets of Rp 1.07 quadrillion, 2,603 branches and 17,695 ATMs. (bbn)
