Actress-singer Sherina Munaf has returned to acting with a role in Wiro Sableng 212, a comedy action film, after a 17-year hiatus.
Sherina’s last film role was in Petualangan Sherina (Sherina’s Adventure) in 2000.
Sherina said as quoted by tribunnews.com that she had no particular reason for returning to acting.
“I don’t really know why but I am very happy to be involved in Wiro Sableng,” Sherina said.
Wiro Sableng 212 is an action-comedy film based on a noted novel of the same named penned by the late Bastian Tito.
In the film, Sherina plays the role of a character named Anggini.
“I can’t tell you much about Anggini because I do not want to spoil the surprise,” she said.
Sherina said she had exercised to get fit for the role.
“The Anggini character requires me to do something unique,” she said.
