ransjakarta buses will commence operations four hours later than usual on Friday to allow its personnel to perform Idul Adha prayers in the morning.
Transjakarta buses, which usually start operating at 5 a.m., will start operations at 9 a.m. on Sept. 1.
“Transjakarta will let drivers, bus stop operators and bus officers pray first,” Transjakarta president director Budi Kaliwono said in a statement on Thursday.
He said the company would also operate additional buses on several tourist routes to accommodate people over the long weekend.
"The tour buses will offer free tours for domestic and international tourists from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.," Budi said.
Transjakarta has six tour packages, under the themes “History of Jakarta” (between Istiqlal Grand Mosque in Central Jakarta and Kuta Tua in West Jakarta), “Modern Jakarta” (Istiqlal Grand Mosque-Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta), "Art & Culinary" (Istiqlal Grand Mosque-Kota Tua via Pecenongan), “Jakarta Skyscrapper” (Istiqlal Grand Mosque-Senayan traffic circle in South Jakarta), “Jakarta Open Space” (City Hall- Kalijodo child-friendly integrated public space in North Jakarta) and “Jakarta Cultural Heritage” (Istiqlal Grand Mosque-Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta).
