he Jakarta Communications, Information and Statistics Agency plans to involve social media activists in its bid to raise awareness on environmental issues.
The agency’s head, Dian Ekowati, said social media players would be invited to City Hall over the next few days to discuss the idea. Other public figures and activists from communities concerned with environmental issues would also be invited to the discussion.
“We invite them to share their concerns and to help raise public awareness,” Dian said on Wednesday, adding that the topic of clean water would be a highlight of the discussion.
She said cooperating with social media influencers, who were mostly young, would be an effective campaign strategy.
“With their creativity, the campaign can go viral. We are preparing an action plan to make the campaign sustainable,” she said as quoted by beritajakarta.id. (fac)
