The Mandarin Oriental Jakarta’s Cake Shop, in collaboration with breast cancer awareness non-profit organization Lovepink Indonesia, created the Pink St. Honoré cake, which was available throughout the month of October. With every cake sold, 15 percent of the proceeds was donated by the hotel to the foundation.
Lovepink Indonesia, meanwhile, organizes public awareness campaigns on breast cancer. The organization is managed by a group of breast cancer survivors, with activities such as information sharing and training across various communities, schools and other relevant organizations.
The cake itself, made of vanilla sable, raspberry crémeux and topped with luscious mascarpone chantilly, was created by the hotel’s pastry chef and sold for Rp 50,000 (not including tax) per piece.
