To convey its gratitude for its sponsors and partners who supported the recent successful Maybank Bali Marathon 2017 (MBM 2017), PT Bank Maybank Indonesia hosted an appreciation night in its Jakarta headquarters on Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
The MBM 2017 was organized on Aug. 27 with its start and finish line located in front of the Bali Safari & Marine Park in Gianyar, Bali. Some 9,000 runners from around the world took part in the race, a 20 percent increase on 2016 when 7,500 runners took part.
The race itself was divided into several categories, namely: full marathon (42.195 kilometers), half marathon (21.0975 km), 10-kilometer as well as the wheelchair and children sprint categories. This year’s race covered a route traversing the Gianyar and Klungkung regencies of Bali, each offering its own unique view of rice fields and local villages, where adults and children alike gave runners a boost by cheering them on.
Furthermore, this year’s race also introduced a new race pack collection venue: the cozy outdoor space of the Taman Bhagawan garden in Tanjung Benoa, Bali, where racers could have a picnic on the sidelines. Previously, the race pack collection had been conducted indoors.
Maybank Indonesia invited its platinum sponsors Allianz, Danone, XL, Bali Safari & Marine Park, gold sponsors Taman Bhagawan, Gambino Coffee and its silver sponsor AiryRooms to the appreciation night.
The bank also invited its media partners for the race: the Kompas Gramedia group, Metro TV, Tempo, The Jakarta Post and the Tribun Group. Supporting sponsors were also invited.
The function was enlivened by various fun games, memorabilia videos of the 2017 race and musical entertainment.
