n a bid to boost tax revenue next year, the city administration is set to oblige all business buildings in Jakarta to implement electronic parking systems, an official from the city's Levy and Tax Board (BPRD) has said.
The chairwoman of the technology and information unit of the board, Dewi Mustika Tafal, said the system would be trialed at Ciputral Mall in West Jakarta and Plaza Central in South Jakarta.
"We're planning to trial the policy at two locations first. The policy will be implemented at all buildings in stages in 2018," Dewi said on Tuesday as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.
Dewi said currently two banks, Bank DKI and Bank Mandiri, had supported the program.
Next year, the city administration would engage more banks to join the program, she said.
The city administration expects to obtain Rp 38.12 trillion (US$2.8 billion) in tax revenue next year with Rp 685 billion coming from parking fees. (cal)
