hree young Indonesian Muslim scholars and a German journalist will discuss religious tolerance in a discussion titled “Life of Muslims in Germany” at Goethe-Hause in Jakarta on Wednesday.
During the discussion, which will start at 7 p.m., the scholars, Irma Wahyuni of Muhammadiyah Teaching Institute in Bogor; Muhammad Heychael, the director of NGO Remotivi, Juwita Trisna Rahayu of Antara news agency and German journalist Daniel Bax will talk about universities and Islamic studies as well as the role mosques play in Germany.
Irma, Heychael and Juwita were among 14 young Indonesian scholars who were part of a study trip to Germany from Nov 8 to 21. They visited mosques and universities in Berlin, Frankfurt and Göttingen, meeting and taking part in discussions with German Muslim scholars.
A similar discussion will be held at Goethe-House Bandung on Thursday evening, featuring Irma, Juwita and Marela Al Faton, another participant of the study trip to Germany.
