wo additional one-card, one-trip (OK OTrip) routes, the Lebak Bulus-Pondok Labu and Grogol-Angke routes, have started operating on Monday, city-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta has announced, bringing the total OK OTrip public transportation routes to five.
Transjakarta spokesperson Wibowo said that eight public minivans, or angkot, were deployed to serve the Lebak Bulus-Pondok Labu route, while nine other angkot were serving the Grogol-Angke route.
"Earlier, [Transjakarta] started operating three OK OTrip routes, the Kampung Melayu-Duren Sawit, Semper-Rorotan and Kampung Rambutan-Pondok Gede routes," said Wibowo .
OK OTrip is one of Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's key programs to provide cheap and integrated public transport to residents of the capital.
With OK OTrip cards, passengers only pay Rp 5,000 (35 US cents) to take Transjakarta buses and OK OTrip minivans to their destinations on a single journey within a travel time of three hours.
Experts have criticized the program's small fleet of integrated public minivans. Less than 100 public minivans across the capital have joined the program, while over 10,000 minivans operate in the city.
