T

he police are expected to question a man who allegedly kicked a boy at a playground in a mall in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, after a video of the man and the boy’s parents arguing circulated on social media.

“We will invite both parties to solve the problem on Monday or Tuesday,” Kelapa Gading Police precinct chief Comr. Arif Fazrulrahman said on Sunday as reported by kompas.com.

A video circulating on social media shows the boy, who was on a swing, unintentionally hit a little girl. The girl’s father later kicked the boy. The boy’s mother later confronted the man and their quarrel was recorded on a phone.

“My boy is crying, sir, you kicked him,” the mother said in the video.

“Make sure your child behaves, I never let my child behave like yours,” said the father.

A security guard was seen trying to calm the mother and the man, while both children were still crying.

The police said both parties had yet to confirm whether they would answer the summons. (ami/wit)
