Two suspects have been arrested over the murder of a woman whose body was found inside a cupboard at her home.
olice have arrested two people in Merangin, Jambi, who allegedly killed a woman, only identified as CLP, at her home on Jl. Mampang Prapatan in South Jakarta on Tuesday.
South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Indra Jafar said the police were still investigating the motive behind the murder and the reason the suspects, identified only as YAP and R, chose to flee to Jambi.
“We haven't interrogated them so far. But they intended to flee,” Indra said on Tuesday, kompas.com reported.
He said the suspects had been identified after investigators had reviewed footage from CCTV cameras installed at the victim's rental home. Police tracked down the suspects and coordinated with Merangin Police in Jambi to arrest them.
“With CCTV cameras [the suspects were identified] and the suspects were arrested within the jurisdiction of the Merangin Police. The police arrested them there, and we will fetch the suspects to be brought to Jakarta,” Indra said.
Previously, Mampang Police chief Comr. Triharijadi said the victim had been murdered. CLP’s body was found in a cupboard with wounds from a blunt object on the head. (ami)
