alaysia-based budget airline AirAsia announced on Friday the reopening of the international routes Johor Bahru-Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur-Solo starting in January.
According to a press release, the Johor Bahru-Jakarta route will be available three times per week starting on Jan. 10, while the Kuala Lumpur-Solo route is slated to commence on Jan. 17.
Both flights will use the Airbus A320, an aircraft that can accommodate 180 passengers.

"Due to close proximity, Malaysia is a favored destination for Indonesians. Due to the high demand, AirAsia will reopen the routes," said Indonesia AirAsia X CEO Dendy Kurniawan.
Johor Bahru in Malaysia is currently home to Hello Kitty Town and Ninja Go, a new attraction provided by Legoland Resort Malaysia.
To promote the new routes, the carrier will offer low fares starting from Rp 299,000 (US$23) for the Jakarta-Johor Bahru flight and Rp 499,000 for the Solo-Kuala Lumpur flight. (mra/kes)
