Tourism Minister Arief Yahya took home two awards on Monday for his hard work in promoting Indonesian tourism.
The first award he received was a 2017 iNewsMaker Award for Tokoh yang Menduniakan Indonesia (Figure who Globalized Indonesia). iNews is a news channel under MNC Media and awards were handed out to national figures considered to be the top newsmakers of the year.

Yahya also received a 2017 Yokatta Golden Award for Tokoh Pembaharuan Promosi Pariwisata Indonesia (Figure who Modernized Indonesian Tourism Promotion). Ahman Sya, the ministry's deputy of tourism development, accepted the award on Yahya's behalf.
“Thank you iNews TV, MNC Group and thank you to the wonderful Golden Yokatta who have been paying attention to the development of tourism in Indonesia,” said Arief Yahya.
Ever since becoming the Tourism Minister in October 2014, Arief Yahya has so far earned 46 international awards from 22 countries. (asw)
