ational flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is set to launch a new direct route from Jakarta to Banyuwangi, East Java, on June 21.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumandi and Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita will reportedly join the maiden flight.
Arriving in Banyuwangi on the same day, Arief and Enggartiasto are scheduled to officiate the soft opening of El Royale Hotel & Resort Banyuwangi, the first four-star hotel in the regency.

Adopting the design of Osing tribe, the hotel offers six villas, 100 standard rooms and two junior suites.
The Tourism Ministry is planning to hold a training session at the establishment for 150 frontline employees, which include airport officers of Notohadinegoro Airport in Jember and Blimbingsari Airport in Banyuwangi, as well as hotel officers and tourism practitioners around the Ijen area. (kes)
