ransportation minister Budi Karya Sumadi encourages every Indonesian citizen to vote for state-owned PT Angkasa Pura II at the International Airport Review Award 2017.

“Let’s support AP II to win the International Airport Review Award 2017 where it’s being nominated for three categories,” said Budi, who is also the former president director of PT Angkasa Pura II.

The award itself consists of nine categories, and AP II is being nominated in passenger experience, airside operation and air traffic center (ATC)/air traffic movement (ATM) categories.

“We support tourism development in order to reach the tourist arrival target,” Budi added.

Tourism minister Arief Yahya said that the award can become a stepping stone to reach a higher goal.

“I believe that if we are united for Merah Putih [Indonesian national flag], there’s nothing that we can’t do,” said Arief.

The voting process runs from June 16 to August 31 and people can vote on http://www.internationalairportreview.com.

One email address or IP address is only allowed to vote once. To make it easier for voters, AP II has also integrated a voting feature into the Indonesia Airports mobile app.

AP II is competing against other institutions such as Brazil Civil Aviation Secretary, Leidos, Imtradex, Nats, Swiss International Airlines, Zurich Airport, Gatwick Airport and Airport Advisors.

AP II has previously earned ‘the most improved airport 2017 award’ from Skytrax World Airport Survey and four awards at the Asia – Pacific Stevie Awards 2017 in June.

“The awards that we’ve won will improve our position in the international scene,” said PT Angkasa Pura II president director Muhammad Awaluddin.

“If we win this, Indonesia, a country with 250 million people, will be remembered on a global scale. The world’s confidence in our citizens will be stronger,” Muhammad added.

Winners will be announced on Nov. 1 online and at the 20th anniversary of International Airport Review. (asw)
