t this year’s State-Owned Enterprises Corporate Communication and Sustainability Summit (BCOMSS), an annual event aimed at encouraging state-owned enterprises to enhance information transparency, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir presented the 2024 Top Contributor to BUMN for Communications award to Arief Mulyadi, CEO of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM).

Minister Erick said during the awards ceremony that state-owned enterprises were becoming increasingly transparent with regard to corporate information, pointing to the growing number of news articles on SOEs from only around 600,000 in 2021 to nearly 1.5 million in 2023.

"Information transparency is part of what I mentioned earlier as a policy we are trying to continue to encourage for [adoption] at all state-owned enterprises.

“And alhamdulillah [Praise be to God], today we are able to witness many state-owned enterprises that are continuing to migrate for the better. This means they are increasingly opening up," the SOEs minister said.

Erick emphasized that information transparency allowed SOEs to be better prepared to address both positive and negative issues and information toward improving their sustainability.

Meanwhile, PNM CEO Arief Mulyadi expressed his gratitude to all PNM employees for all their dedication and hard work that had led the company to winning the BCOMSS 2024 communications award.

"Of course, this award is the result of the collective hard work of more than 70,000 PNM employees across 35 provinces in Indonesia, as well as the 15.2 million PNM Mekaar customers who have tirelessly strived to run their businesses to provide welfare for Indonesian families," he said.

Arief also expressed his hope that the BCOMSS 2024 award would inspire the company to boost its overall performance. This would allow PNM to provide enhanced empowerment programs and comprehensive services to its customers, which would ultimately lead to a positive multiplier effect and accelerated benefits for society.
