agari Harau in Limapuluh Kota regency, West Sumatra, is going to hold Pasa Harau Art & Culture Festival for three days from Aug. 25 to 27.

The festival will feature art performances, traditional games and sports, such as pacu jawi, pacu itik, silek lancah and drinking 1001 Kawa coffee, traditional ceremonies, culinary exhibition and handicraft exhibition.

On the second night of the event, at exactly 8 p.m., there will be a performance from renowned musician Fariz RM.
“Throughout the three-day celebration, we are targeting to welcome 5,000 visitors, including foreign tourists,” said the festival’s director Dede Pramayoza.
Moreover, visitors of the festival can also expect to enjoy a real-life experience of living at the Harau Valley.
“Tourists will stay in local houses and interact directly with the locals of Harau Valley. They can also take part at the Performing Art workshop that will be held during the festival,” said Tourism Ministry's Archipelago Marketing Development deputy, Esthy Reko Astuti. (kes)
