Alor Regent Amand Djobo said that the festival helped in speeding up the development in Alor. The area is used to welcome more than 1,000 tourists. Alor Tourism Department reports that the number of international tourists who visited the regency in 2016 was around 1,577 people.

“We are still struggling with tourism development due to the lack of infrastructure and supporting facilities,” Djobo said.

Alor is a popular diving destination in Indonesia that has around 50 diving spots located around Pantar Beach. 20 of these locations are listed as the world’s best diving spots including Selat Pantar Ocean Park.
