sports event called Orchid Country Club (OCC) Golf Tournament 2017 is set to be held at Palm Springs Golf & Country Club Nongsa in Batam on Nov. 25 -26.
The event is targeting golfers from neighboring countries such as Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Singapore.
“For Singaporeans and residents of Johor Bahru, golf is a lifestyle,” said Nongsa Sensation Batam Island chairman Andy Fong.
Participants will be served with a series of entertaining activities after the tournament including a gala dinner and live music and a tour around Batam City.
Tourism Ministry’s archipelago tourism marketing development deputy Esthy Reko Astuti gave her appreciation towards the event.
“Golf events in Batam have the possibility of attracting plenty of overseas tourists from Singapore and Malaysia. Batam is a golf paradise, the service and panoramic views of golf courses in Batam are world-class. The entertainment is also excellent, you have nothing to lose if you play golf in Batam,” told Esthy. (asw)
