espite the name Sail Sabang 2017, this sailing event is open for everyone, including movie lovers. Available from Nov. 27 until Dec. 5, Sail Sabang 2017 is going to have layar tancap (open air cinema) to entertain visitors.
Films that will be screened there consist of short and feature-length movies.
Another interesting feature that will be presented at Sail Sabang 2017 is Layar Kubah (Dome Screen) from Dec. 3 – 5 that will play astronomy-themed films and TED Sabang that will talk about music, technology, creative generation and culinary.
“There will be Nyak Ina Raseuki (Ubiet), Gibran Chuzaefah, Hijrah Saputra, Astrid Enricka, Hilmar Farid and Teguh Ostenrik who will talk about different topics,” said Creative Economy Agency’s deputy III of infrastructure department, Hari Santosa Sungkari.
Sabang is a hilly small town in Aceh that is sometimes called as uptown and downtown by the locals. It comprises of five big and small islands namely Weh Island which is the biggest island, Rubiah Island, Klah Island, Seulako Island and Rondo Island.
