fter 21 years leading the company he built, Capital A CEO Tony Fernandes spoke to The Jakarta Post’s Deni Ghifari on Monday about his plans to retire.
Question: Could you please name the businesses under Capital A?
Answer: Capital A is an aviation services, travel, e-commerce and logistics company, so we have four divisions. Our size is about 18,000 employees with about US$5 billion in revenue.
AirAsia aviation is made up of four airlines — with Cambodia coming soon — and an aviation services group called Red Aviation Services, which has an engineering company, maintenance, repair and overhaul services, an in-flight food company called Santan and a ground handling company called GTR.
Then we have our logistics company called Teleport, which is logistics in terms of traditional airline cargo, e-commerce delivery and express. Those are the three businesses for Teleport.
Then we have our e-commerce [division] AirAsia digital, which is made up of Super App and BigPay. As it stands right now, we have a smaller venture capital company as well, but that's still very small.
How is the airline doing right now?
