t least one private fuel retailer has struck a deal to purchase base fuel from state-owned Pertamina, ending months of dry pumps and empty tanks. However, another company remains stuck in stalled talks, leaving its stations unable to serve customers.
PT Aneka Petroindo Raya (BP-AKR), a joint venture between London-based oil and gas company BP and local firm PT AKR Corporindo, announced on Friday that it has secured a supply of base fuel from Pertamina’s subsidiary, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.
“Yes, the current purchase is indeed 100,000 barrels,” BP-AKR president director Vanda Laura said on Friday, as quoted by Kontan.
The transaction volume was verified by Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry oil and gas director general Laode Sulaeman.
“The volume is 100,000 barrels,” Laode confirmed on Friday, also quoted by Kontan.
As a result, BP-AKR has been able to resume sales of its BP 92 fuel across BP gas stations in Greater Jakarta and West Java. The company confirmed that supplies would gradually be rolled out to East Java in the coming days.
The company clarified that the fuel supply was replenished by procuring imported RON 92 base fuel through a business-to-business (B2B) agreement with Pertamina Patra Niaga.
