T Global Digital Niaga, the operator of the publicly listed e-commerce platform Blibli, has carried out an organizational restructuring that has resulted in the layoff of 270 employees as part of its cost-efficiency drive amid ongoing financial losses.

In a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Tuesday, Blibli’s chief corporate secretary and investor relations officer Eric Alamsjah Winarta said the company had completed an “organizational alignment” process in October to ensure it operates “more effectively and efficiently”.

“The company, after thorough consideration, deems it necessary to carry out the organizational alignment to open opportunities for achieving sustainable growth and creating long-term value for shareholders,” Eric stated.

He emphasized that the move was one of several initiatives aimed at improving operational cost efficiency.

Blibli, which counts tobacco conglomerate Djarum Group as its largest shareholder, made assurances that all rights of the affected employees had been fulfilled “in accordance with, or even exceeding,” the requirements stipulated under Indonesian labor law.

The company also confirmed that the restructuring was permanent, with no conversion to contract-based positions or relocation to other units.

Blibli said the layoffs and reorganization were not expected to have a material impact on its ongoing operations, legal standing, financial position or business continuity. On the contrary, the company expects the alignment to lower its operational cost base and improve long-term performance.
