At least three parties backing president-elect Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 election have expressed their interest in accepting President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo into their ranks following a confirmation from the PDI-P that the President was no longer part of the party.

The party has also invited leaders of political parties contesting the Feb. 14 general election as well as all presidential tickets.

Since the February election, Prabowo has expressed his hope to reach out to rivaling camps, as the president-elect looks to form a ruling coalition and the new government in the six months leading up to his presidency.

Muhaimin issued the statement shortly after leader of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, issued a similar statement backing the incoming Prabowo administration.

NasDem, which won 10 percent of the vote in February's legislative election, was ready to pledge its "full support" for the next administration, its chief Surya Paloh told reporters after a meeting with Prabowo. 

Ganjar, who garnered 16 percent of the vote in the Feb. 14 presidential election, said that judging from statements made by PDI-P chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri in recent weeks, it was likely that the party had readied itself to be in the opposition.

With Prabowo Subianto’s victory now sealed, attention has turned to the formation of his new government, with rival political parties beginning to discuss their future positions toward the incoming administration.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has asked the nation to move on from grievances over the results and circumstances of the 2024 general election and to unite ahead of the start of Prabowo Subianto’s presidency later this year, after the Constitutional Court found no merit in allegations of state interference and nepotism in the 2024 poll.

Anies said he did not consider Prabowo his political enemy and that his competition in the last presidential election was part of the democratic process.

Jakarta-based pollster Indikator Politik Indonesia has found in its latest public opinion survey that outgoing President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's approval rating has reached an all-time high of more than 77 percent.

The Constitutional Court stated that “political endorsement” of certain candidates was problematic if it was done by the president as a representative of the state.

Mirroring its rejection of the case launched by another losing candidate Anies Baswedan earlier on Monday, the Constitutional Court said there was no evidence the president or state bodies interfered in the election, nor that regional officials and social aid were mobilised to sway voters.

Allegations of misuse of the state apparatus and resources had been at the center of a presidential election dispute case at the Constitutional Court. 

The Constitutional Court on Monday, in a five-to-three decision, upheld Defense Minister Prabowo’s landslide election victory, rejecting claims by one of his two rivals that February’s election was marred by fraud.

Jokowi got a slight bump in his latest job approval rating from 76 percent in February to 77.2 percent when the survey was conducted in early April, Indikator Politik Indonesia director Burhanuddin Muhtadi said on Sunday.
